DK Cross County traveled to Bridgman to compete in the second conference meet of the season on Wednesday. The conditions were less than ideal, with a lot of rain in the forecast and an already soggy course. That didn't stop our Panthers from their continued great season. The word of this meet was BEST; 12 Panther athletes had a season or personal BEST race! The boys kicked off with a third place finish behind Saugatuck and Holland Black River. Led by Senior Captain Landon Madden with a 6th place finish with a time of 17:13.1. This marks the 8th straight race Madden has finished in the top 10! Our other medaling athlete was Malachi Allersma who also broke the 18 minute mark with a PB time of 17:49.7 finishing 20th. Jace Hilton was right behind him with a 21st place finish and another sub 18 minute race of 17:56.9! Joseph McCoy ran a SB 18:07.9 and Abram Kellogg rounds out our top 5 scorers with a PB time of 18:49.9. Personal bests today include; Trace McCoy PB 19:05, Camilo Gonzalez PB 19:45.3 and Carter Cooper PB 22:07 (by over a minute)! Malachi Martin ran a season best 23:46 and Isaiah Kellogg ran a season best 24:54.1! Other Delton runners included Ayden Jones 20:00.4, Lucas Doubledee 20:09 and Jack Favreau 20:58.7. The girls team also had 3 personal best times and a season best time; led by Freshman phenom and dual sport athlete (volleyball) Olivia Gonzalez with a personal best 23:09.3.
