DK-Hastings Battles Sturgis in Hard-Fought Meet as Junior Aubrey Yarger Earns USA National Team Selection HASTINGS, MI — The Delton Kellogg - Hastings Girls' Swimming and Diving Team delivered a fierce performance on Tuesday evening, going toe-to-toe with a formidable Sturgis High School squad. Though DK-Hastings narrowly fell 91 to 78, the dual meet featured standout individual victories and a historic announcement that elevated the entire program onto the international stage. DK-Hastings showcased impressive depth throughout the evening, battling through tight finishes and securing first-place honors across several events. Top performances were delivered by Selena Corona, Ainslie Dygert, Lilly Randall, Jayda Villarreal, and Aubrey Yarger, all of whom captured event wins to keep DK-Hastings within striking distance. The defining moment of the night, however, arrived with a surprise pool-deck announcement that brought the entire arena to its feet. Delton Kellogg junior Aubrey Yarger, a reigning State Champion diver, was officially selected to represent the United States on the AAU Diving National Team. Yarger will travel to Poland this coming December as a member of the United States International Team, competing against premier young divers from around the globe. The prestigious invitation marks a monumental milestone for the 11th-grade standout, transforming her local dominance into a world-stage opportunity. A huge congratulations to the junior star as she prepares to don the red, white, and blue overseas! Despite the close loss on the scoreboard, the electric energy surrounding Yarger’s national call-up gives DK-Hastings tremendous momentum as the season progresses. The squad will look to build on their strong individual outings when they travel to face South Haven High School in their next dual meet on Tuesday, September 22nd.
