CHASING HISTORY: 2026 Panthers Shatter Records in Legendary Track Season DELTON, MI — The 2026 middle school track and field season will not be remembered for mere participation, but for a wholesale transformation of the Delton Kellogg record books. In a historic spring campaign that concluded this week, the Panthers saw a staggering nine all-time school records fall, while more than a dozen athletes sprinted, jumped, and threw their way into the "Top 5" in school history. The Girls’ Surge The Girls' team, which saw three distinct athletes claim the top spot in the all-time standings. Leading the charge was sixth-grade sensation Arabelle Allersma, who established herself as perhaps the most dominant distance runner in program history. Allersma claimed the #1 school record in three separate events: the 400m (1:05.1h), the 1600m (5:17.33), and the 3200m (11:10.7h). Joining her in the history books is eighth-grader Kinnley Watson, whose performance in the hurdles has set a new benchmark. Watson now holds the #1 all-time record in the 200m Hurdles with a time of 33.3h. Meanwhile, eighth-grade sprinter Kayli Deboer proved to be the fastest girl in school history, clocking a record-breaking 13.7h in the 100m Dash. The girls’ dominance extended to team efforts as well. The 2026 squads for both the 4x100 Relay (56.54) and the 4x400 Relay (4:41.50) established new #1 all-time records, proving that this year’s roster possessed both individual brilliance and unmatched depth. Boys’ Program Hits High Mark The Boys' team matched the intensity of their counterparts, particularly in the relay and mid-distance categories. The 2026 Panthers now hold the #1 all-time school records in the 4x200 Relay (1:48.44) and the 4x400 Relay (4:17.8h). Individually, eighth-grader Jason May cemented his legacy as a dual-threat athlete, securing the #2 all-time spot in both the 200m Dash (25.9h) and the Long Jump (16' 4.5"). On the track, Dakota Poirier and Owen Schouten also made major moves, both claiming #2 all-time spots in the 800m and 200m Hurdles, respectively. 2026 ALL-TIME STANDINGS: THE TOP 5 LIST The following athletes from the 2026 season have earned a place in the Top 5 of the Delton Kellogg Middle School All-Time Record Books: GIRLS’ TOP 5 HONOREES Arabelle Allersma (6th): #1 All-Time (400m, 1600m, 3200m) Kayli Deboer (8th): #1 All-Time (100m) Kinnley Watson (8th): #1 All-Time (200m Hurdles) Addison Reneau (6th): #1 All-Time (800m - 2:36.53); #4 All-Time (200m) Aaliyah Culver (7th): #1 All-Time Tie (High Jump - 4'6"); #2 All-Time (200m, Long Jump) Madison Bell (7th): #2 All-Time Tie (High Jump - 4'6"); #5 All-Time (100m) Grace Meyers (8th): #2 All-Time (55m Hurdles) Lylah McLellen (8th): #4 All-Time (55m Hurdles) Olivia Gonzalez (8th): #4 All-Time (400m) 2026 Relay Teams: #1 All-Time (4x100 & 4x400) BOYS’ TOP 5 HONOREES Jason May (8th): #2 All-Time (200m, Long Jump) Dakota Poirier (7th): #2 All-Time (800m) Owen Schouten (8th): #2 All-Time (200m Hurdles) Trace Macoy (8th): #3 All-Time (1600m) Brayden Lutz (7th): #3 All-Time (55m Hurdles) Archer NeSmith (8th): #5 All-Time (Shot Put) 2026 Relay Teams: #1 All-Time (4x200 & 4x400) A Legacy Established As the equipment is packed away and the track goes quiet for the summer, the 2026 Panthers can head into the off-season knowing they have set a bar that will be chased for decades.
