Delton Kellogg Track & Field Competes at SAC Conference Championship Meet The Delton Kellogg Varsity Track & Field teams traveled to Gobles High School on Tuesday to compete in the SAC Conference Championship Meet, taking on many of the top athletes from across the conference in one of the biggest meets of the season. The Panthers delivered several standout performances, personal records, and top finishes while competing in a highly competitive championship atmosphere. Team Standings The Delton Kellogg boys team finished 9th overall in the SAC Conference standings with 25 points, while the girls team placed 14th overall with 15 points. Kalamazoo Hackett captured both the boys and girls conference championships. Junior Landon Madden once again led the way for Delton Kellogg with an outstanding performance in the hurdle events. Madden earned All-Conference honors by placing 2nd overall in the 300-meter hurdles with a time of 41.12. He also added a strong 5th-place finish in the 110-meter hurdles in 15.94, competing against some of the top hurdlers in the conference. Senior Keegan Hill turned in one of the top performances of the evening for the Panthers, running a personal-best 54.44 in the 400-meter dash to place 7th overall in the conference. Hill later joined Landon Madden, Lincoln Wendland, and Jarno Wiebenga in the 4x400-meter relay, where the team finished 9th with a time of 3:49.92. The Panthers also continued to improve in the sprint relays. The boys 4x200-meter relay team of Michelangelo Orso, Ryan Sinclair, Logan Damron, and Jarno Wiebenga posted a season-best time of 1:38.88. Meanwhile, the 4x100-meter relay team of Kayden Conley, Lincoln Wendland, Logan Damron, and Karl Neumann crossed the line in 49.49. Delton Kellogg’s distance runners continued to show growth throughout the championship meet. Jack Favreau recorded a personal-best time of 2:12.98 in the 800-meter run, while Nick Muday and freshman Abram Kellogg competed well in the 1600-meter run, finishing in 5:18.79 and 5:20.06 respectively. In the 3200-meter run, Jace Hilton finished in 12:14.71, while Deegan Castaneda crossed in 13:03.96 as the Panthers continued to build valuable postseason experience in the distance events. Senior Izabelle Gruber highlighted the evening for the Delton Kellogg girls team with an exceptional performance in the hurdle events. Gruber earned a 4th-place finish and personal-best time of 48.79 in the 300-meter hurdles while also placing 5th in the 100-meter hurdles with a time of 17.42. The Panthers also received strong efforts from their girls distance runners. Riley Perley ran a personal-best 2:56.43 in the 800-meter run and later contributed to the girls 4x400-meter relay team. Senior Elli Timmerman added a personal-best 6:28.17 in the 1600-meter run, continuing a strong senior season for Delton Kellogg. The girls relay teams competed well throughout the meet. The 4x400-meter relay team of Abby Nguyen, Izabelle Gruber, Olivia Vincent, and Riley Perley placed 8th overall with a time of 4:44.41. The girls 4x800-meter relay team of Elli Timmerman, Olivia Vincent, Evelynn Courneya, and Riley Perley completed the race in 12:02.96. With numerous personal-best performances, strong relay efforts, and several athletes placing among the conference’s top competitors, the Panthers continued to show progress and determination at the SAC Conference Championship Meet. Delton Kellogg will now turn its focus toward the postseason as athletes prepare for the final stretch of the 2026 track and field season. They will be back in Gobles on Friday to compete in the Gobles Invitational at 12:30 pm.
